Any NPC with shop inventory shows a shop panel in the top-right of the cinematic chat view when you talk to them. The panel is a visual reference — it shows you what the NPC sells and at what price, but you don't click to buy.
Any NPC can be a merchant, not just building owners. If an NPC has shop inventory (set in the Atlas), the shop panel shows up.
To purchase something, talk to the NPC in conversation: "I'd like to buy that iron sword" — the NPC handles the transaction through dialogue, deducting the price from your wallet and adding the item to your inventory.
Selling works the same way. Ask the NPC if they want to buy something you have — "Hey, wanna buy this old shield?" — and the NPC can say yes or no, and you'll work out the price in conversation.
Prices adjust based on the NPC's disposition toward you:
| Disposition | Price modifier |
|---|---|
| Hostile | +50% |
| Unfriendly | +25% |
| Neutral | Base price |
| Friendly | −10% |
| Loyal | −20% |
In the Atlas NPCs tab, you can edit any NPC's shop inventory — add items, set prices, adjust quantities. Each item has a name, type (weapon, armor, consumable, tool, misc), base price, quantity, and optional stats. Any NPC given shop items will show the shop panel in chat.
