Image models and art styles

Every picture in your world (portraits, interiors, settlements, enemies) is painted by an image model in an art style. You choose both when you create a world, and can change them later.

The four models

Model Plans Styles
Default Every plan Oil Painting, Modern Anime, Retro Anime (80s/90s), Adult Animation, Comic Book
BuddyMix Hero Stylized Anime
Krea 2 Hero Art Book, Adult Animation, Graphic Novel, Dark Fantasy, Retro Anime, Shonen Manga, Shoujo Manga, Open Air
GPT Image Hero Oil Painting, Graphic Novel, Adult Animation, Modern Anime, Retro Anime (80s/90s)

The premium models cost more credits per image than Default. See Credit costs.

Styles that share a name across models ("Adult Animation", "Retro Anime") are tuned separately for each model, so they look a little different on each.

Changing later

Atlas → Settings → Art Model and Art Style.

Without Hero

Premium models are Hero-only. If a world is set to one (say, a community world you copied, or your own world after Hero ends), new images are painted with the Default model at the Default price instead. Existing images stay as they are.

Settlement templates

Template buildings come pre-painted in the Default model's five styles, whatever model your world uses. See Settlements, districts and regions.
