Status effects

Every effect in combat, plus how weaknesses and resistances change them.

How effects work

The effects

Effect What it does
Burning Damage every turn, and the target hits a little softer.
Bleeding Damage every turn, ignoring armor.
Poisoned Damage every turn, and healing items restore only half.
Chilled Lowers defense. Two chilling hits in a row freeze the target.
Frozen The target loses its next turn.
Weakened The target deals a quarter less damage.
Blinded Hits miss more often. For you, the timing gauge's hit zone shrinks.
Stunned The target loses its next turn. Only dangerous enemies can stun.

You may also see Braced (your next hit taken is halved), Rallied (hitting harder) and Staggered (losing a turn).

Hover or tap any effect on the battle screen to see what it does.

Weaknesses and resistances

Enemies can have up to two of each:

They come into play through your weapon's enchantment: a burning blade against an ice creature weak to fire, or a frost blade that does nothing against something made of ice. See Inventory and equipment.
