Every field on your character sheet, what the game does with it, and what the characters you meet actually know about you.
Open your sheet by choosing your portrait on the Command Deck (desktop) or in the status bar (mobile). It's the Player tab of the Atlas.
Character creation is the first thing you see in a new world. The other Atlas tabs stay locked until you're done.
Everyone starts at level 1 with the same stats. You can't edit those directly.
On the free plan, Create Your Character uses one of your daily AI actions. Manual doesn't.
Name. Your name. Characters who haven't met you don't know it until you tell them. See First meetings.
Gender. Free text, so use whatever words fit. When it's filled in, characters treat it as authoritative and use the matching pronouns. Left blank, they work it out from your name, appearance and backstory, which can drift.
Age. Set once at creation, and at least 18. After that it can't be edited, and it grows as days pass in your world.
Faction. The group you belong to, if any. See Faction below.
Copy puts your name, gender, appearance, description and portrait prompt on your clipboard as text.
Your body: build, face, hair, skin, scars, anything someone would notice. Up to 1,500 characters.
It's the one thing a stranger knows about you, so it's your first impression. Two tips:
Appearance doesn't change your portrait. See Your portrait.
Default Outfit (up to 250 characters) is what you normally wear.
Choose + Add outfit to save other outfits (up to 12). Choose one to put it on, and choose it again to go back to your default. Characters always see whichever outfit is highlighted, and it takes priority over any clothing mentioned in your appearance, your backstory, or their memories of you.
To edit an outfit you've added, remove it and add it again.
Outfits change what characters see you wearing. They don't change your portrait. They work like portrait states do for other characters (see Portraits, portrait states and expressions), except yours are text only.
Labeled Personality & Backstory while you create your character, and Description on your sheet afterwards. Up to 2,500 characters.
Write who you are and where you've come from. Only people who've met you see it.
Behind the scenes, your name, gender, appearance and description also travel with the conversation when characters write their memories of you and their summaries of your relationship. That's how they keep straight who you are and which pronouns to use. The daily digest sees them too, so the day's events can involve you sensibly.
A character only knows what they've learned. Writing "everyone in town knows I'm a famous duelist" here won't make strangers know it. To give someone a shared history with you, write it on their profile instead (see NPC profiles, Player backstory).
Pick a faction from the list, or create one with + New faction….
Your faction is visible to every character, strangers included, the same way your clothes are. Characters in the same faction know you're one of them. What the faction means to them comes from your world's profiles and lorebook. See Factions.
Your portrait is made from the Portrait Prompt alone. The game frames it as an upper-body portrait and adds your world's art style. Your appearance and outfit are never added.
The right side of your sheet shows your level and XP, HP, and attack, defense and speed. Below that:
See Inventory and equipment and Levels and XP.
| Strangers | People you've met | In a scene you're spectating | |
|---|---|---|---|

| Appearance and gender | Yes | Yes | Only if they've met you |
| Description | No | Yes | Only if they've met you |

Your inventory is only visible to characters you're trading with or doing a quest for, and they see item names only.
